Jodie Daquilanea

Survey Director

NORC at the University of Chicago

Years on the NLS team: 2005-present

Role: I worked on the NLSY97 team to manage data collection from about 2005-2009. I continue to help the project team with adapting and constructing project databases that aid in data collection for both NLSY79 and NLSY97.

Why am I proud to be part of the NLS team

The NLS surveys collect important information on major life events of multiple generations of Americans. Because this information is collected from so many people from so many backgrounds, these surveys allows us to see clearly how the lives of Americans throughout the nation have changed in the past several decades - without being limited by the perspective of any one part of society. Knowing where we have been and how we have changed as a nation, as well as the economic and social outcomes of individuals over time, helps us understand the ways in our country is changing, and whether these changes are to the benefit or detriment of Americans who occupy different places in society.
