Years on the NLS team: 1995-present

Role: I do a host of projects from creating variables like the NLS weights, schooling event histories, interviewer characteristics and health summaries to designing new sets of topical questions. I also execute methodological studies, analyze non-response, test the data before users see it, write parts of the user guides and answer technical questions.

What innovations have I helped introduce to the NLS

I wrote the custom weighting programs, which enable researchers to generate weights when doing longitudinal research. I also created schooling event histories for the NLSY97 and the wealth summary variables which are part of the NLSY79.

Why am I proud to be part of the NLS team

I am proud to be part of a team that provides data that enable researchers to determine which public policies work and which do not. The NLS helps the USA measure and quantify key aspects of society.
